Normally we would take a walk outside now, but today is the last day in Germany before we visit Austria for a whole week. There is some festival , called „Full Metal Mountain“ and we’re looking forward to it.
We went there last Winter as well and it was quite enjoyable. Hard Rock/Heavy Metal and wintersports. Nice combination .
Except the weather is really good today, we spend the day inside , doing some gaming.
Please excuse the bad image quality, but the photocamera is already packed for the vacations and the flight.
I think there will be lot’s of photos and videos the next days, so keep on.
Just had a free day today. In the indoorskiing hall had some technical issures to fix and therefore the hall stayed closed. I hope it will reopen tomorrow. No work means no cash and thats really bad for the next trip.
Our next trip will be to Austria. And this time, it’s not meant to be for walking, it’s a festival. Next Monday we’re flying to Klagenfurth and then head up to Tröpolach. One week of heavy metal and skiing. Could be worse than that.
I created myself a little trailer from the footage I shot last year.
Steffi’s point of view:
Today is a bad day. It was planned to go working together in the skihall. But sometimes plans get smashed. Yesterday evening we got the news, that a water pipe has got broken and the skihall can’t get open the next day.
So I, Steffi, am working alone in the skihall. The worst thing: the weather isn’t such bad, that it couldn’t get used for walking.
Now we’re sitting at separate places with the longing look out of the window and the wish to get outside.
Fortunately it will not be long until I can go back home.
There I’ll go planning the stuff I need for our winter holidays in austria. A lot of warm clothes, socks, skiing helmet, trousers and everything you could need for a funny skiing holiday.
Of course also the camera isn’t allowed to stay at home. We’ll be there with three another persons and one of them didn’t learn skiing a lot. So there will be many funny pictures, I think.
And at least we also booked the travel because it’s a festival with a lot of music, bands and beer.
It’s raining about one week now, so there are no really big whishes toward going on a walk at the moment. Doesn’t really matter, because we have to do enough with planning, preperations and work. We decided to take in our first daytrip, we did in 2014, in our recently done total kilometres, because it’s nearly or excactly the way we would start in 56 Days. Therefor we will start away right at the point we stopped 3 years ago. So in total we did 19,2km now, hooray. I will set up an article for this date later on; EDIT: and here it is DAY 1
Yesterday was our first day in Haltern. For the summer season we will work there as a climbing trainer in a ropes course.
I hope it will be a good job, but from my point of view, it will be like this. We’re outside all day long, getting some fresh air, lots of sun, we’re doing again a sportive activity, could be worse than that. Being outside all day long includes sunny days, but even rainy days. Yesterday was one of the rainy ones. No sun during the whole day. Thank god there was nearly no one, who wants to climb in the woods. So we trained ourself a little bit. Getting familiar with the parcours, trained some evacuations and played some cards inside during the heavy rain.
At the end of the day, there was a little team-meeting . Doing some BBQ and killed a couple of beer. Really a good ending for this day.
No walking today, but another life-fullfilling activity; working.
I’m working in an indoor skicenter as a skiteacher for about 4 month now and it is really enjoyable. Good job, nice guests and tons of fun. Even the day was quite adorable. Sun, sun,sun and just a little more sun added to the nice skyline. Accross from the Tetraeda in Bottrop you have a nice overview over wide parts of the Ruhrgebiet.
More or less it was a good day, except some things went out of control. But everything changed when we came back home. Greetings from the post, the deliveryman was there.
Some more bags for our trip; Some waterproof, some for compression. Additionally some new full body rainponchos including space for the huge trekking-backpacks. A new and in my opinion not enough configurated first aid kit. But the main reason for buying this package was the size and the weight. Nearly everything in a bag in a size of a wallet. Nice to have.
Ah yeah and a pair of extra travel towels. Light weight, quick drying, antibacterial material and of course…. in a bag. I thinks they should be worth the money. I will pick the quality up in an extra article.
Started planning our trip through Europe about three years ago, nearly on the same date. Confused by finding the calendar I created in that period of time, I updated it to the actual date.
62 days remaining.
Gave me a really good feeling.
Most of our equipment is complete. Cameras, bags, clothing, cosmetics and all the other stuff which you could need but are too heavy to take along with.
We own two big trekking-backpacks. Should spend enough space for all our load, hopefully.
Sun is shining and it’s getting warm outside. A good day for preparing.
So we grabbed our backpack and some camera stuff and went outside.
Only walked about one hour. Nothing more to see, except some geese searching for a snack and the trees and bushes spreading out some buds and blossoms.
After a while we decided to make a rest and take some refreshing drinks. Not a good idea when it is quite comfortable in a good society. Our rest took about 4 hours and loads of beer later we decided to return home.
Meanwhile the weather changed from warm and sunny to cold and rainy. Thank god for my decision not to take a waterproof jacket with me. My wife told me…. Damn!
